As a kid, I was a crazy fat guy who loved doing business. Living like a job, I had no interest in sports at all. At 14, I launched my first business in 2011. Over the next three years, I started four different businesses—all related to pets.
Most of my secondary school life revolved around building these ventures. I made money quickly but eventually lost it all. These golden experiences taught me valuable lessons about business. Without funds to start over, I shifted my focus to studying.

By 2018, at the age of 19, I achieved something I once thought impossible. My 1119 English score improved from an H to 3B. But I wasn’t done yet—I wanted a new challenge. This time, I set a goal to lose weight, build six-pack abs, and push my limits.
To achieve this, I found a trainer to guide me through fitness planning. I also joined a body transformation competition, “Grand Prix Asia,” organized by Nabba WFF Malaysia. This marked yet another turning point in my life...
As I researched fitness, I realized how much I enjoyed it. By chance, I discovered a certified fitness program and decided to join. Eventually, I became a FITM-certified fitness trainer and enrolled in the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Program (American Council on Exercise). At the same time, I was studying for a diploma in information technology at college.
After getting my certification, I started coaching fitness students. My main goal was to help them shed fat and gain muscle. Over time, I successfully helped many people through their transitions.
One day, I got the opportunity to join a workout team. This led me to teach a group of young pupils from XiFang Academy, which Terence Cao Guohui co-founded. While training others, I continued to extend my skills by taking various fitness classes.
In March 2020, the Malaysian Movement Control Order (MCO) changed everything. Forced to shift online, I started virtual fitness classes with my team. Unfortunately, student numbers declined rapidly.
As I analyzed the situation, I realized two major issues—I had poor social media management and lacked marketing skills. As a result, my income dropped to an unsustainable level. This challenge forced me to rethink my approach, leading to yet another turning point in my life...
After gaining experience in fitness, I shifted my focus to web development. As a full-stack web developer, I helped businesses build websites. However, many clients raised concerns about low traffic and poor sales conversion. Their struggles made me realize that having a website alone wasn’t enough—it needed visibility.
To find a solution, I began researching ways to increase website traffic. That’s when I discovered Google SEO and its potential to drive organic visitors. Intrigued, I decided to dive deeper into learning SEO strategies.
During my internship after college, I had the privilege of working with a mentor who generously shared SEO insights with me. This experience allowed me to apply SEO knowledge in real-world projects, reinforcing my understanding of the field.
Determined to grasp SEO, I enrolled in courses from Semrush, HubSpot, and Google. I also expanded my expertise by reading major SEO blogs like Google Search Central, Backlinko, Search Engine Journal, Semrush, and Ahrefs. Through further education and hands-on experience, I became a Google SEO Specialist and began using advanced methods in client projects.
